About Us

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a national volunteer movement founded in 1977. CASA of Ellis County is a member of the National and Texas CASA Associations. There are 72 CASA programs in the state of Texas. CASA of Ellis County provides community volunteers to serve as Guardians ad Litem and Court Appointed Special Advocates for the best interests of abused, abandoned, and neglected children. CASA volunteers serve as the “eyes and ears” for the judge in child welfare cases. Each child’s case is researched, and recommendations are made to help them reclaim their childhoods from abuse and neglect. CASA volunteers provide stability to the child prior to going into the foster care system.
