About Us

Red Oak was founded in 1844 by Colonel James E. Patton, then legally incorporated as a city under the Texas Local Government Code in 1949. Located in Ellis County, Red Oak is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. In 2023, Red Oak has an estimated 14,000 residents, including remarkable portfolio of industries, businesses, and higher education, multiple banking and finance institutions, and a wide range of retailers and restaurants.
